Matthew 5:4 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. (NIV)

I have a dear friend who is watching her husband slip away into the arms of God.  We don’t live in the sane place anymore so I can’t be with her to comfort her.  It’s hurts that I can’t be with her.  I am thankful for our digital age.  I can send her a comforting word from the scriptures and add my own thought each and every day.  It’s not the same as being there but it helps.  When we pray for others it’s a comfort to them to know we are praying.  It also helps them feel our love and concern when they know how we are praying.  Our prayers send love not only from us but help and encourage those in distress to feel the loving arms of God lift them up onto angel wings.  We can never underestimate the healing and encouraging power of our prayers for others.  Let us be faithful to pray.  Let us be a vessel for God’s blessings on others through our prayers.
