Matthew 16:26 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (NIV)

We see and hear more of it every day.  Various denominations and Christian leaders watering down what it says in the Word of God, the Holy Bible, to make it agree with what the world wants. Whenever we give up part of our faith, our belief in the truth of God’s written word for the sake of following the world, we lose that part of our faith.  God is not a man.  Man changes with the change of the wind.  God’s word stands forever.  Just because we might not like some of it doesn’t make it any less true.  We must be on our guard and ask the Holy Spirit for discernment when someone changes or deletes part of God’s Word.  Jesus said His Word cuts sharper than any sword.  Jesus quoted God’s Word to defeat the devil and his temptations and false promises of worldly rewards.  Any worldly awards, money, fame, power or anything else will expire.  Only the reward given by God, the reward unearned by mankind, the reward gained through the belief and obedience to God through Jesus, the reward of eternal life will last through eternity.  Let us remember God’s word cannot be changed.
