Voice Aloud

Psalms 5:3 3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly. (NIV)

Because quiet, alone time was always difficult to get, most of my communication with God was silent, totally within my mind and active thoughts.  Now that I have much time alone and in quiet, I am learning to speak aloud to God.  No, I’m not talking to myself.  I am talking with my Father, God.  Just like a parent likes to hear the voice of their child, God likes to hear our voice.  Talking aloud to God opens our spirits more to rejoicing, speaking from the heart and really communicating.  Old habits are hard to break but this one is important to break.  Yes, He hears every thought in our mind.  Yes, He hears when we talk to Him without using our physical voice.  Yes, He hears us when we write our prayers to Him.  But we mustn’t deny Him the joy of hearing our voice in conversation to Him alone.  Let not a day go by without liftin our voices to our Father, God in a one on One conversation.

Opportunity

1 Peter 3:15 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (KJV)

So often we miss the opportunities God gives us to speak His word into someone else.  A door is open and we miss it.  Either we haven’t open our ears to hear His voice for the day, we are only interested in our own preset schedule, or we are afraid of speaking up for fear we are rejected.  When we speak God’s word into someone what they do with it is not our burden other than to pray for them.  The result of our speaking God’s word is up to Him and the one to whom we speak.  Let us be sure to put fear of rejection aside and love and obedience to God up in place of our fears.  Let us remember each and every day to open our hearing to our Father’s voice and ask Him to bless someone through us each day.  Then, let us be alert to open doors.  It may be just a warm greeting to someone who is lonely.  We tend to look for the big opportunities probably because we have a desire to look really good.  Let us be willing to do the smallest of blessings to anyone at anytime and anyplace God shows us an open opportunity.  There are no reruns.
