1 Samuel 17:50 50 David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Even though David had no sword, he struck down the Philistine and killed him. (NIV)

Sometimes we think the task we face is insurmountable.  An entire army felt that way.  None of the men trained in warfare would face Goliath.  The task looked insurmountable.  No one could possible defeat that giant of a man.  David was young and untrained.  He only took care of the sheep.  That was considered to be a job for those who would never amount to much.  David had a gift of faith.  Goliath was speaking and taunting God.  David knew God would win.  He saw no one taking the challenge.  He knew with God all things are possible.  It only took a small stone and a slingshot in the hand of a boy to save a nation.  David had a gift of faith.  He knew he was of God’s chosen.  He knew if he walked according to the will of God, God would protect him.  He stepped out in faith and trust.  He did not wear man’s armor.  We too, are of God’s chosen.  We can be like David.  Wherever, whenever and however God would use us, we can walk in faith that He will equip us for the task at hand.  Our job is to be willing to obey.  When we walk in obedience and faith we can leave the results to God.  The question is, are we willing to go, do and speak what He bids?
