Thirsty

Revelation 21:6 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. (NIV)

It is done.  Quite a statement.  When we read the preceding paragraph, we find God talking about death and morning.  Death and morning come from sin.  Though we sin because we think it is enjoyable, sin leads to death because it separates us from God.  God says that death from sin is done.  It is done because of the price He paid along with His Word, His Son, Jesus.  Mankind seeks eternal life.  Mankind is thirsty for eternal life.  When we accept Jesus into our hearts, minds and lives, when we are thirsty enough to do that, He give us the spring of the water of life.  This is in the person of the Holy Spirit who comes to dwell in us.  As He dwells in us we are united as one with God, the Father, God, the Son and because He is inside us, God, the Holy Spirit.  Eternal life, the spring of the water of life, begins at that point and will never end.  Nothing can quench our thirst for eternal life except being continually filled with the Holy Spirit.  We must check our thirst.  We must seek to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit each and every day.  Let us drink deeply.
