1 Corinthians 13:2 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. (NIV)

We are obsessed with knowledge.  It seems we worship knowledge more than God.  We are bombarded with information for our knowledge through every medium.  We pride ourselves on how much knowledge we have.  Knowledge won’t give us a relationship with God.  We can have knowledge of every word in the Bible and still not know God.  Our salvation and adoption into the family of God is based on relationship.  We must have an intimate relationship with Jesus, God’s Son.  Knowledge is no substitute for a relationship.  It’s not wrong to seek knowledge but it must be kept in the proper perspective.  Do we seek knowledge more than we seek to talk with God?  Do we seek knowledge more than we keep to sit in the presence and awareness of God in and with us?  Knowledge is good and necessary but let us first seek to love God with all our heart, mind and strength..  Let’s not allow the seeking of knowledge to take away from our time with God on a one on One basis.
