Know Intimately

Luke 18:21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said. (NIV)
There is a big difference between knowing and keeping the laws or commandments of God and knowing God. We can (though it’s not really possible for us) to keep every commandment to the letter and not know God. Keeping the commandments without knowing God will not give us eternal life in the Presence of God. It is only through God’s grace and coming to know Him that we will have the gift of eternal life in His very real Presence. Not only that, but we also benefit from a really abundantly, full life when we know God and walk and talk with Him trough our life. We must each ask ourselves if we really know and are intimate with God or are we just being religious. Really being intimate means we talk with, not to Him, throughout each and every day. He is always in our thoughts and are always wanting to hear from Him and to share Him with others. We still strive to keep His commandments but above all, let us strive to know Him intimately.
