Isaiah 64:8 8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. (NIV)

Before the potter puts the clay on the wheel he forces all the air out of the clay to be sure there are no air bubbles.  Then, when he places the clay on the wheel he makes sure the clay is exactly in the center of the wheel.  If it’s off center even just a tiny bit, when the wheel spins the clay will become askew.  We are the clay in God’s hands.  God allows us to go through trials to force out the parts in us that allow sin to enter.  Then, He places us in the center of His wheel.  However, we tend to move off the center rather than centering our thoughts and life on Him.  When we do this, we become misshapen.  God has placed us in the center through His Son, Jesus and the filling of the Holy Spirit.  It is up to us to stay there through reading and meditating on the Bible, staying in close conversation through prayer and listening to the instructions of the Holy Spirit.  Let us be sure to stay centered on God.
