Act on What We Hear

Proverbs 8:34 34 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. (NIV)

When we listen to God we are blessed.  We are to be daily at His door.  God’s door is Jesus.  Without Jesus in or heart, mind and life the door to God and hearing Him is shut.  We can be the most astute Bible scholar but, without walking through the door, Jesus, we can’t understand what the written words in the Bible really mean.  When we listen, we must listen with the intent of acting on what we hear.  We will not hear more if we don’t act on what we hear.  A very good word study is on the word listen.  The amount of times “listen” is in the Bible is an indication of how important to God it is for us to listen.  Let us be sure we spend more time listening, through meditation of the written word and through the Holy Spirit within us then the time we spend talking to Him and telling Him what we want.  He has already said He would supply all our needs.  Listening then acting brings us a joy and fully abundant life.
