Waiting on God

Psalms 27:14 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord. (NIV)

Many wake up, check the schedule they made for the day and move on with it.  They don’t think about God or speak to Him until something interrupts their schedule.  To wait for the Lord doesn’t mean to do nothing.  It means to look to Him, get His direction for our schedule and a clear direction and then walk out in it.  When we run ahead of God we find ourselves in a mess.  God is the coordinator of all that is.  Running ahead brings failure.  Likewise, if we delay in following what God has for us most often we will miss out on a blessing.  God is God of time.  He wants to guide us one step at a time. He knows when it is time to take the step and what step we are to take.  Let us not begin a day without turning the schedule we have made over to God for His direction and correction.  God’s timing is perfect.  Let us wait on the Lord so our strength is renewed through our faith and trust.  This brings the courage to face all circumstances because we know God is with us and we are with Him.
