Action Must Follow Knowledge

James 1:22 22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (NIV)

Most all of us know what a balancedis meal and good nutrition includes.  Knowing it and following it are 2 different things.  When we choose not to follow a good nutritional diet, our bodies pay for it.  Head knowledge of the instructions for living a full, abundant life have been generously available to us in the Holy Bible.  Knowing the words isn’t enough.  Being able to quote the words isn’t enough.  Unless we follow through and live the words we will not have that full, abundant life promised.  Yes it can be fun and addicting to go into the history and know all the facts contained in the Bible.  It makes us feel good to share how much knowledge we have. Intellectual knowledge isn’t always followed by application.  Let us be sure that, as we seek the knowledge, we have the wisdom to apply the knowledge we gain.  People hear our words but can soon forget them.  People see how we live and remember.  Let us be sure they see God’s love in the way we live.
