Acts 10:44And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. (NIV)

Not only do our tithes and offerings serve as a memorial before God, our prayers also serve as a memorial before Him.  Every prayer we utter, whether aloud or in our own quiet minds and thoughts, are laid on the alter in heaven before the Presence of God.  He not only hears them, He values our prayers.  We tend to think our prayers are for our own benefit.  We says them most often to get things we think we need or want.  Sometimes we even say prayers of thanksgiving, worship and praise.  When we stop and realize what God does with our prayers I would imagine it will change the words, meaning and motive behind our prayers.  We might forget some of the things we pray but God never forgets.  They are a memorial in His very Presence.  Let us be sure our prayers glorify our God.
