Trees

Psalms 96:12 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. (NIV)

We live in an area with a lot of trees.  Many of them are big, old and beautiful.  I enjoy looking at them.  When I see them I am reminded of God, Who created them.  The word tree and trees appears in the Scriptures 299 times.  Sometime the tree is used as a symbol, many times representing us.  When I look at a big, old tree I see the strength of it’s branches.  I see how the branches come out of the trunk. The tree has weathered many a storm because it has deep and wide roots and the trunk is thick enough not to break.  The branches that are securely rooted in the trunk also weather the storms.  We are to be like the big, old tree.  We have a trunk that will weather any storm.  The trunk we are grafted in is Jesus.  As long as we are fully connected to the trunk we will grow strong enough to weather any storm that comes our way.  Our trunk, Jesus, has a big and deep root system because Jesus is the Son of I AM, the God of all Who created all through His Word, Jesus.  The only thing that can sever our branch from the trunk is sin.  We must be sure we stay current on confessions and repenting form any sin that would try to sever us from the trunk of the Tree of Life, Jesus.  Let us quickly prune any twig that tries to grow from our branch that isn’t in tune with the love and Word of God.
