Revelation 4:11 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV)

All things, including us human beings, were created for the pleasure of God.  This may seem like news to us.  We live as if everything on this earth was created for our own pleasure.  We live as if all things on this earth were ours to possess and do with as we wish.  The fact is, we are here specifically for the pleasure of God.  We must pause and think if our life, the way we live it, is really giving pleasure to God.  What or who is first in our heart.  Abraham held Isaac first in His heart and God tested him to see if Abraham would put God before Isaac.  We, too, must past that test.  Anything that comes before God is taking pleasure away from God.  My morning prayers always end with, “Let me be pleasing to You this day.”  I wish I could say I continue on that vain each and every day but the material things surrounding me try hard to take first place in my heart.  We live in a sinful, self-seeking world.  I’m sure Abraham really struggled on the way up that mountain with Isaac.  We, too, must struggle to be sure God is first in our heart.  To be first in our heart, He must be shown to be first in the way we live, talk and think.  We are here for the pleasure of God.
