Covering Our Heart

Ephesians 6:14 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (NIV)

The breastplate covers our chest, our heart.  It is the righteousness of Jesus that covers our hearts.  God looks at our hearts and when we have received His Son, Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord in our minds, lives and hearts He fills us with His righteousness.  This is what God sees when He looks at us.  But our heart aren’t protected unless we put on the breastplate of His righteousness.  We do this every day by giving ourselves and the day to the glory of God.  With our willingness to listen to and let the Holy Spirit lead us throughout the day, we will continue in the righteousness of Jesus and serve God, bringing Him glory through what we say and do.  Let us not miss one day without covering our hearts with the breastplate of the righteousness of Jesus so lovingly given to us through His savrifice.
