John 21:22 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” (NIV)

We tend to always be concerned with other people.  What they do, what they say, how God is using them.  We look with a coveting eye making sure we do, get or appear a little better and are angry or jealous if someone else appears to have something we want or think we should have or do.  Jesus wants us to be dependent on the Father, not on others.  He wants us to go to Him first with our questions and problems.  We can go to others after we hear from our Father and get confirmation we are hearing correctly.  The direction God has for each of us is individually planned by Him.  Our faith is individual.  Our faith doesn’t depend on what anyone else does, doesn’t do. Says or doesn’t say.  Our faith depends on our choice to believe and trust.  Let us remember God is our Source for everything.  He is also the Source for others.  What He asks of us to walk and what He asks of others to walk are individually planned by Him for each one of us.  Though we are One in the Body of Christ, we are still each an individual child of God.  Let us develop an intimate relationship with Him more intimate than with any of our brothers or sisters in Christ.
