Knowing God

Psalms 89:15 15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. (NIV)

We can know all about God and His characteristics and not really know God.  Until we really know God we can’t really be in His presence.  Being in His presence is different than His being with us.  To really know someone, we must be in their lives – their daily, private lives.  Most of us live one way around others and when we are alone, we live another way.  We can sit in church and sing, pray and listen to sermons and still not really know God.  Knowing is by experiencing.  To experience God, we must in reality trust Him enough to give Him total control of our life.  There are no exceptions.  This takes a lot of trust because our nature is to be in control of all we experience.  I pray you want to really know God, to totally trust Him with all the aspects of your life.  Let us give free reign to the Holy Spirit to free us from all preconceived ideas of God, Who He is and what He wants us to be, do and say.
