In the Dark

Psalms 23:4 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (NIV)

Many people are afraid of the dark when they’re alone.  They will turn on ever light in the house.  Adolescent children, old enough to be left home alone for a few hours, are a good example.  Sometimes they can be so afraid they want their light on all night.  But, if Dad stayed in their room, the light could be turned on because they knew their Dad was there to protect them.  When we are walking through trials, we often feel we can’t see and are afraid we might make the wrong decisions.  But we don’t need to see what is ahead of us.  We are assured our Father is walking right behind us saying, “Go this way.”  He has promised never to leave us.  We can’t see Him because He is right behind us, protecting us and giving us directions.  We only need believe, trust and listen.
