Matthew 25:10 10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. (NIV)

As we enter the season called Advent, a time of preparation for the coming of God’s Son, let us remember the parable of the virgins.  It tells us we are always to be ready for the coming of God’s Son.  We are so busy preparing to celebrate with family and friends and there is nothing wrong with that.  But we must be sure we keep our spirits ready.  Let us not become so busy with the material side of celebrations that we forget to spend time in the written word of God, the Holy Bible, time in prayer – 2-way communication with God, and time in service as God’s hands, feet and voice to those around us.  Doing these things daily is our preparation for the coming of God’s Son. No man knows whey He will come for His Bride, the followers of Jesus, not even the Son.  Let us enjoy our celebration with friends and family and our preparation for those celebrations, but let us even more stay prepared for the wedding banquet being prepared for us in the very presence of God, the Father.
