Hebrews 13:20-21 20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen (NIV)

Why does God equip us with everything good?  It is not so we can have everything we want for our own self-pleasure and comfort, nor is it for us to look good by giving generously to others.  God equips us with everything good that is needed for doing His will.  He uses what He gives us to make us pleasing to Him.  We please Him in our devotion and obedience to His Son, Jesus Christ.  In our natural, sinful nature we are always looking out for us, not only our needs but our wants and desires.  We compare what we have or don’t have with what others have or don’t have.  We need to learn to look to Jesus.  My daily morning prayer is that I would be a pleasure to God, my Father during this day.  I want to be pleasing to Him.  I trust Him to equip me with everything necessary for me to be pleasing to Him.  Be it to be part of the birthing process of a new saint or giving someone food or an encouraging smile.  Whatever God desire of us each and every day is what we should ask to do and listen to do it.  Let us be pleasing to Him each and every day.
