James 1:13-14 13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.  (NIV)

During this season we are hit hard with temptation through advertising claiming various things are necessary for our comfort and/or enjoyment.  Many buy into the temptation and find themselves in debt long after the things they bought have become inadequate or broken.  Many blame God for their financial situation.  God has promised to provide all we need.  Our problem is we can’t distinguish between needs and wants and so many of our wants have been created by others telling us we should want.  God places each of us at various income levels for our various, specific ministry.  Our problem come from not asking for His wisdom in our financial spending.  We tend to forget all we have is really His and we are to be good stewards of what He puts in our hands.  We tend to forget to teach our children this most valuable lesson by overindulging them with too many things under the tree on Christmas morning.  Let’s teach them along with ourselves that we are to submit to God all we have and seek His wisdom on the use of all He puts into our hands.
