In the Backgrounbd

Matthew 1:20 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. (NIV)

Joseph is given the short straw.  He isn’t mentioned very often yet, God chose him to be the earthly father of His only Son.  God trusted Joseph to protect, raise and care for His Son as He grew from an infant to an adult.  Joseph was a man who listened to God.  Not only did he listen, he responded in immediate obedience.  There are many songs about Mary but we tend to forget Joseph.  Joseph seems to be in the background.  So often we think we are only in the background.  We see famous evangelists and writers that seem to get a lot of praise for what they do for the Kingdom of God.  The people who are in the background are incredibly important.  Joseph was a integral part of Jesus’ walk on this earth  We each have an integral part to play in the Kingdom of God.  No task is more important than another.  Let us do whatever God calls us to do with our entire heart, a heart full of joy and praise for being involved in the Kingdom of God.
