No Need Is Small

Luke 2:26 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. (NIV)

According to research, Simeon was well into his 100’s when Jesus was brought into the temple to be dedicated.  Jesus was also prophesied over by an old woman named Anna.  This should be confirmation for us that we are never too old to be used by God.  No matter our financial, physical, emotional or any other condition, as long as God has us on this earth, He has a ministry for us.  I have a dear friend that always says she doesn’t feel like doing anything.  I’m so glad Jesus didn’t spend His time on this earth paying attention to how he feels in relation to what He does.  We are here as God’s vessels on this earth.  Part of our sin-nature is our tendency to let our feelings dictate what we will do.  We are each important to God.  He has things every day to do through each and every one of us.  Our problem is to be willing to listen and then respond.  Let us not let a day go by in this approaching new year that we don’t listen as we waken each morning and allow God to do His ministry that day through us.  It might be lifting someone up before His throne of grace, giving someone a smile or a meal or anything else.  It is not for us to choose but for God to flow through us in any big or small way for no need is small when it is needed.
