Seeing Clearly

Matthew 7:5 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (NIV)

Most of us stop with the meaning of quit judging others and get the sin out of our own lives.  There is more to this verse than that.  After we have gotten victory of a particular sin, we are able to help someone else who is struggling with the same sin.  It is hard to help others when we haven’t had the same experiences.  Many times we go through various trials so we can be more qualified to help others going through the same trial.  After breaking my knee cap, I am more aware of the struggles of those who have handicaps.  Mine was only temporary but so many are permanent.  I now know when and how to help when I see someone else struggling to move from one place to another.  When we go through various struggles, let’s be sure to ask God to make us aware of all we need to learn in order to help others in the same struggles.
