Healing

I’m not putting scripture with this because I hope this will encourage you to do your own scripture research.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  Jesus is willing to heal.  Jesus is compassionate.  Jesus heals 3 ways.  He heals naturally.  He does that because He made us to heal naturally.  We cut ourselves and He created the blood clot factor to heal our cuts.  He heals through human doctors and medicine because He is the One Who gives us the wisdom in learning how He made our body work and how to keep it working right.  He heals miraculously.  He didn’t heal miraculously to draw attention to Himself.  Notice in scripture He usually said for them not to tell anyone (but they always did).  It is those who make a show out of miraculous healing that have decreased our faith in the reality of it.  Our problem is demanding which method Jesus will use to heal us.  We are also impatient.  We forget there is a warfare going on for our physical and emotional bodies.  When Daniel prayed one time it took 21 days for the angel to deliver the answer because of the spiritual warfare going on.  We are to seek all 3 types of healing.  It is important, as we continue to seek healing to actively participate in spiritual warfare.  It takes our continued and faithful prayers to unite with heaven in getting through the warfare that evil tries to prevent God’s work getting through to us.  It is imperative that we learn to stand firm and continuing in faith, be actively patient.  I hope this helps you not only understand at a deeper level, but that it also motivates you to be pro-active in seeking all 3 ways God heals.

When we do a word study on the word body we will find out we don’t own our own body.  Our body belongs to God.  It houses the Holy Spirit.  When we don’t take proper care of our body it is sin.  God will not surpass our willfulness to sin.  Our sin of not caring for our bodies suffers the consequences of sickness.  If we truly want God to heal our diseases and injuries we must do our part in being careful and eating healthy.  It isn’t a lack of God’s willingness to heal but our willingness to live in sin.  Let us quit blaming God for a lack of our healing, confess our sinful neglect and do our part in our healing.  He wants us whole.

There is a time God chooses to heal us by taking us up to Him because we have finished what He has called us to do on this earth.  That is a glorious time of perfect healing but also it is not something we should hasten.  We want to be pleasing to God and do all He has for us to do on this earth.  We have all eternity to be in His very real and tangible presence.

My prayer is for all of us, especially me, to take our responsibility for our body seriously and through our proper care of our bodies, trust God for the healing of the evil surrounding us that would try to keep our bodies from being a healthy vessel for the Holy Spirit’s work on this earth.
