2 Kings 4:4 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” (NIV)

Most of the miracles recorded in the Bible weren’t accomplished without the receiver participating by doing something.  In this case, the widow had to pour oil into all the jars in order to have the money to pay her debt and enough to live on later.  When Jesus healed a blind man, he was told to go and wash his eyes to receive his sight.  Today we seem to want to be served without doing anything ourselves.  We don’t see or receive miracles because we don’t participate by doing our part to receive them.  God has given us the responsibility of being co-heirs with His Son, Jesus.  That means not only to we share in all Jesus receives, we also share in all He does.  We must participate with Him in the work our Father has for us to do.  This work includes the spreading of the Father’s love, the teaching and sharing of His Word, (Jesus is the Word) and the giving of His miracles and gifts.  What we do in the sharing of the work differs from time to time according to the situation and the instructions of the Father.  Let us learn to do more than ask for a miracle.  Let us also listen to the instructions for our part in the fulfillment of the miracle.
