Romans 12:3 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. (NIV)

We’ve read many places in scripture that tell us to be humble.  When or if we say or think we are humble, in actuality we are being arrogant.  We are boasting about being humble.  Being humble is difficult for us sinful humans.  We like to think of ourselves as better than others.  We like other to think of us as better than them.  We have the sinful desire of being first in all we think, do and have.  Sometimes, in our striving to become humble we go too far and start to not like ourselves.  Instead of judging ourselves, let us learn to as the Holy Spirit to show us what we need to change.  Let us not worry about being humble or being proud.  Let us be content in learning to love, serve and obey our God.  Let us be concerned with building up others through encouraging words.  Let us think of ourselves as children of God, not though our own efforts but through the grace of God and the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus.  When we speak, let it be of the love of God rather than of our presumed accomplishments. Rather than praising ourselves let us praise God
