1 Peter 3:3-4 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (NIV)

In today’s culture we seem to be fixated with make-overs.  We make-over various rooms in our houses.  We go to salons for make-overs.  We make-over our wardrobes.  Manufactures develop commercials to entice our desire for make-overs.  We have a major spiritual make-over when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and take Him into our hearts, minds and lives.  This is the make-over that really counts.  Our problem is we often revert back to the way we were before our spiritual make-over.  Though Peter is addressing women in these verses, the apply to every person.  Our spiritual make-over should speak louder to those around us than any physical make-over we could have.  We must ask ourselves what people see and hear when they are with us.  Let us be sure they see and hear what God has made-over within us and ask the Holy Spirit to help us live and grow in the new image – the image of God that He placed in us when we welcomed His Son into our lives.
