Romans 4:25 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (NIV)

I have 2 pairs of black slacks.  One pair was very expensive.  The other pair was only $5.  I am very carful with the expensive pair but wear the cheaper pair when I don’t care what happens to it.  We tend to value things according to how much they cost us.  Our salvation, our belief in Jesus, didn’t cost us anything.  It cost Jesus His life.  So many are turning away from Jesus and their belief in Him because, since it doesn’t cost them anything, they don’t nurture and care for their belief.  It gradually loses importance.  So, as their belief loses importance things of this sinful world become more and more important.  Unless we take time to nurture our belief through Bible study, meditation and 2-way conversation with God, we will gradually lose our belief from a lack of interest.  We must remember, though our belief is free for us, it wasn’t free for Jesus to open the door for us to have our sins forgiven, have an abundant life and have eternal life with God, it did cost God the Father His Son and Jesus, His Son, the terrible pain of crucifixion on the cross.  Let us remember His cost and value it and our belief far above anything else.
