Kingdom of God

Luke 17:21  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (KJV)

The kingdom of God is a spiritual place, for God is Spirit.  When we accept Jesus into our hearts, minds and lives the kingdom of God enters into us in the person of the Holy Spirit.  The kingdom of God consists of God’s children, the believers and followers of Jesus Christ.  When Jesus returns to this earth only those who are God’s children, those who are already in His kingdom, will remain.  Those who refused to follow Jesus will be permanently separated from God’s kingdom.  When we live in a kingdom, we follow the laws of that kingdom.  Breaking the laws is sin.  When we break a law, we must confess, admit our guilt.  But we have an advocate, a Defender in the person of Jesus who, as defender and judge, forgives us and allows us to continue being in the kingdom and the kingdom in us.  How wonderful to be in a relationship with the defender and judge of all.
