Weakness

Mark 1:38 38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” (NIV)

Jesus said these words in response to His disciples telling Him there was a crowd of people waiting for Him to heal them.  Jesus didn’t come to earth to heal our physical bodies.  He came to earth for God’s image in us, God’s Holy Spirit, to give birth in us to our spirits in His image.  Our spiritual healing is so much more important than our physical healing.  It’s not that God doesn’t care about our physical condition, rather He keeps His priorities on what is most important.  Physical healing is temporary.  Spiritual healing is eternal.  No matter our physical condition, God can and will work through us to bring glory to His Kingdom.  It is in our weakness that God’s strength and power shows the most.  When we become aware of our own weakness, we have a choice.  We can wallow in depression or we can praise God and allow Him to work through us in His strength any way He chooses.  As long as we continue to breathe on this earth, God can and will work in and through us to do His will and His good pleasure.  It is up to us to be available to God.
