Psalms 27:14 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. (NIV)

Our electronic age as increased our impatience.  We don’t like waiting.  We want everything immediately.  We see tempers flair when people are waiting in various lines.  We carry our impatience through into our prayers.  We want God to “fix” things right away.  As we read about Jesus, walking and healing we see He was never in a hurry.  His first priority was to talk with His Father.  It would be easier for us if God only told us what He wants us to do just before we are to do it.  Though that is often the case, there are times God tells us something in advance.  In those times we must be sure to keep our ears tuned to the Holy Spirit for the timing.  It takes strength and heart faith and trust to wait.  There can be many reasons God tells us to wait.  It might be a preparation time for us or others.  It might be a trust strengthening time for us.  We don’t need to know why God tells us to wait.  We are to trust God, knowing He alone knows when all things are ready for Him to act or speak through us.  Let us learn to keep our instantaneous demands to our computers and wait on God’s time for all other actions.
