Without Measure

Ephesians 3:18-19 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (NIV)

As sinful humans, we have a hard time understanding what real love is.  We are full of self-love usually putting our wants and needs before others.  It is very difficult for us to really understand God’s love for us.  Because we know we aren’t worthy of His love, we have a hard time really being open to His love. His love far surpasses our knowledge ability.  As we open up more and more to the infilling of the Holy Spirit, we gradually open up more and more to God’s boundless love for us.  He knows we don’t know how to fully accept, yet alone return His love in us to Him but He loves us without measure anyway. We must start with trust in the fact God doesn’t lie and therefor loves us just as we are.  As we move deeper into knowing Him through the scripture in the Holy Bible and allow His Holy Spirit to become more active in us, we will grow in our ability to love Him and love ourselves because He loves us.  Let us stop putting ourselves (and others) down with criticism and speak positively about ourselves because we are God’s children.  Let us open up to the full measure (which is measureless) of God in us and us in God.
