Remembered No More

Isaiah 43:25 25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. (NIV)

God blots out our transgressions, not just for our sake but for His sake.  Sin cannot be in the presence of Almighty God.  God is love and God is sinless.  God loves us and desires for us to be in His presence but, without blotting out our sin, He cannot, by His very nature, have us in His presence.  In addition, because He, through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Who is the Word of God Who took on flesh to be able to take on our sin, He remembers our sins no more.  He puts them so far away that they never come back to His mind.  When we confess a sin, it is forgiven, as long as we recognize it is forgiven because of the sacrifice of Jesus.  I learned this because I kept confessing the same sin, only done once, over and over.  Finally, I heard the Holy Spirit ask me, “What sin?”.  Once confessed, once forgiven for all time.  We must learn not to rake ourselves over the coals.  We must learn to forgive ourselves just as God forgives us.  Only through forgiving ourselves can we live fully in the forgiveness of God, our Father.
