Matthew 9:20 20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. (NIV)

Jesus was on His way to raise a girl up from death.  I’m sure He was being encouraged to hurry by the family of the girl.  He was surrounded with a crowd.  He was on an important mission.  Yet, when He felt healing go out of Him from a woman who touched the edge of His cloak, He stopped.  Jesus was never in a hurry.  He always had time for any need of others.  Unlike Jesus, most of us are always in a hurry.  I don’t like to shop so I rush through the stores to get out as quick as I can.  Because of this I fail to see people around me.  God has dealt with me about this.  I’ve learned to focus some of my attention on others.  I’ve learned to stop and talk with others who look like they’re in need.  When we fully trust God, when we really give Him each hour of every day, we will not be in a hurry.  God always provided the time we need for anything He chooses to work through us.  In our rush, we miss the joy of what I like to call divine interruptions.  In actuality, they aren’t interruptions for they are what God has planned for us in that time and place.  Let us choose to slow down.  Let us give each moment of each day to God.  Let us keep our eyes open for God to direct and our ears open for God to enable us to hear.  Let us not miss someone needing to touch the edge of our cloak.
