Romans 8:29 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (NIV)

God desires us to be just like His Son, Jesus.  He wants us to talk and act like Jesus did when walking on this earth.  He wants us to have the mind of Christ.  This takes major surgery on our hearts and minds.  Surgery isn’t pleasant.  We must walk through various trials (surgical procedures) to take out the old, sinful nature we inherit form mankind’s sin.  As the old is taken out, it must be replaced with the new or the old will return and grow.  A cancer cell must be completely removed or it will quickly multiply.  God doesn’t do this totally by Himself.  We must follow His instructions and do our part.  Part of our job is to read, meditate and put deeply in our mind the written words in the Holy Bible God has so mercifully and lovingly provided for us.  Unlike a majority of instructions manuals, this one was written by One Who created the product (us).  Knowing we might have trouble understanding His words, He has also provided us with in interpreter/teacher.  The Holy Spirit Who comes into us when we accept and welcome Jesus Christ into our hearts and minds, will teach and lead us every step of the way.  We only need to open our ears and minds up to His gentle, quiet words of explanation and instruction.  Each day, each trial, will bring us closer and closer to the image of Christ and will gradually renew our mind to be like the mind of Christ Jesus.
