Working With God

2 Corinthians 6:1 1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. (NIV)

What got my attention in this verse is the phrase “God’s co-workers.”  We don’t work for God.  We are to work with God.  That is work along side God.  That is to be aware of God’s presences with us as we work with Him.  That means we are to have 2-way conversations with Him as we work.  So often we hear people, and probably us, say we work for God.  God is our boss.  This gives us the mentality we are given an assignment by God then we leave Him and go off and do the assignment as best we can.  This thinking is part of why our “workings” don’t seem to have the success Jesus had in everything He did while walking on this earth.  He wasn’t working on His own.  Jesus was working with the Father.  How much more do we need to work with God instead of thinking we go off on our on to do “His” work.  This very change in attitude of working with and along side God rather than for God will help us become more aware of His continuous presence with us and His desire for our conversations with Him to never cease.  Imagine, the Creator of all that was, is or will ever be desires to work along beside us as we work along beside Him.
