The Right Time

Romans 5:6 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (NIV)

In college English I was told the first sentence of each paragraph is one of the 2 most important, the other being the last sentence.  I never really noticed this phrase, “at just the right time,” before.  Everything God does is at just the right time.  He doesn’t explain to us the timing.  We are to trust as a child has to trust their parents.  Children are eager for things to happen quickly.  When they ask their parents, “when,” their parents say when it is the right time.  God’s concept of time is very different from ours.  To Him 1000 years can be one day or one day 1000 years.  We can’t possibly comprehend how many things must be coordinated for various things to happen.  We, just as a child waiting for Christmas or birthday, get quite impatient.  Sometimes we even think God must not care or didn’t hear or know of our problem.  We start to complain.  I’ve learned to ask one time and then the rest of the time I thank God He heard me and is in the process of bringing it about into my time and space.  Let’s remember Who is in control and knows when the right time is and practice thanking and praising while we wait.
