Subject to Authority

Romans 13:1-2 1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. (NIV)

This is not happening in many countries including the United States.  In our sinful nature we have become so prideful and independent that we refuse to be subjected to the authority of another when we have a different outlook than they do.  God didn’t say to be subject to them only when we agree with them.  He said to be subject to our governing authorities.  The only exception is when the authorities disagree with the word of God.  Those in the United States know what is going on with many of our government leaders.  So many of them act more immature than spoiled children.  What we can do about it is pray for those who have broken any semblance of respect for the various offices of government.  Pray for those who are in authority over us will come to know God through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Pray this, not for our country but for the love of God Who desires not a single one be lost from knowing Him.
