Ministers

Philippians 1:1 Paul and Timothy, both of us committed servants of Christ Jesus, write this letter to all the Christians in Philippi, pastors and ministers included.  (The Message Bible)

I enjoy reading the Message Bible just for pleasure, not as a study Bible.  This verse really captured my attention.  So many Christians think it is the paid Pastor’s job to minister to the people.  This verse demonstrates some are pastors but all are ministers.  We all, as joint heirs with Jesus Christ, are to minister His Word, the Good News of God’s love, mercy, grace and salvation, to all we meet.  The Pastor’s job is to feed the flock and encourage the flock so they (we) are equipped to go out and minister to the population.  Being a Christian is not a Sunday only job.  Being a Christian, unlike religions of the world, is a way of life.  Being a Christian is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week ever going, non-stopping way of life.  We must ask if we are fully involved and participating in the ministry of being a Christian, a believing follower of God’s Word, His only Son, Jesus Christ and following the example Jesus set for us when He put on the human body form and walked this earth.
