1 Peter 5:8 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (NIV)

In the military soldiers are told as long as they can see the enemy they can defeat them.  This played true in WW1 and WW2 but in Viet Nam it became difficult.  The enemy was able to hide in bushes and sometimes even under ground.  They couldn’t see the enemy and were often attacked unawares.  This is the tactic of Satan.  We can’t see him.  We get so involved in our own selves and in our own living schedule we fail to notice the warning signs of Satan’s presence.  We are distracted and sub come to temptations without warning.  No, we are not to live like Satan is around at every corner or under every bush.  We are to keep the armor of God on us.  We are to dress in His armor each and every morning before we go out to face the world.  With this in mind I make it easy for you.  Here are the instructions for the armor of God.

Ephesians 6:10-18 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

May I encourage you to memorize the pieced of the armor.  I’ve written about the different pieces of the armor in the past.  There are a lot of teachings on line available also.  It is so very important for each of us to be fully armored and ready to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, Satan.  Notice the scripture ends with praying.  Prayer is the most reliable and the strongest weapon ever
