Belief of Future

John 14:3 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (NIV)

What we believe will be in our future affects what we think and do in the present day.  If we have no hope in a future, we become listless, suicidal, despondent, uncaring about our life or the lives of others.  We find no use or purpose in our existence.  Without the believe in and hope of an eternal life, of something good in our future, we have no hope.  Jesus has promised He has a place for us in the future.  He has promised He will come back and take us to be with Him.  Believing and knowing this as a real and true promise that will really happen has a big impact on how we look at the present.  Our present is defined by the hope or, unfortunately for the non-believers, the lack of hope for the future.  For those of us who do know what our future holds we must be sure to share that knowledge with others around us.  God never lies.  All God’s promises always get fulfilled.  Yes, His promises each come with a condition.  The condition for this promise of a place and a future is our belief in and acceptance of Jesus, God’s Son, as Lord of our minds, lives and hearts.  Let us share this glorious promise with others.  God desires none be without this future.
