God Speaks

Genesis 1:3 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.  (NIV)

And God said.  God spoke.  When God spoke, what He said happened.  Whatever God says happens.  God spoke throughout the Old and New Testament of what we call the Holy Bible.  We can read, time after time how what God spoke happened.  Some happened immediately and some happened quite a while after.  Some are still waiting to happen.  God still speaks today.  He has given those who believe in and follow His Son, Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, the Person of the Holy Spirit to speak to and through those believers/followers.  As God was creating the earth there were no humans.  Now God speaks to and through humans.  Quite often the humans don’t listen.  God will cause what He has spoken or is speaking to come about with or without humans.  It is the humans who miss out by ignoring what God has or is saying.  He desires for us to allow Him to speak and work through us because we are now joint heirs with His Son, Jesus Christ.  We must ask ourselves if we are listening.  We listen both through the written word, the Holy Bible and through the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit.  We must more than listen.  We must act on what God says.  Let us always listen.  As to the spoken words today, no spoken word from God will ever disagree with what God has allowed to be written in the scriptures, the Holy Bible.  That is why it is so very important for us to commit the scriptures to our minds.  Let us know scripture and be prepared to hear God speaking to us today
