Pressure-Wash

Ephesians 1:7 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace (NIV)

I spent 2 days pressure washing the siding on my house.  The nozzle of the pressure washer has a couple settings.  It ranges from a fine mist spray to a strong, concentrated and mostly one-point spray.  The spray setting, I had to use depended on what was on the siding.  A good bit of it took the strong, concentrated and mostly one-point spray.  This required patience as there was a good bit of soil to remove and it was there long term.  It is the same with our sin.  It took the blood of Jesus to wash our sins away.  Some sins left us quickly.  But some of our sins had become long-term habits and took more of the strong, concentrated and mostlh one-point spray.  Our salvation is instantaneous the moment we accept Jesus into our hearts, minds and lives as our Lord and Savior but our renewing or washing of our minds is a process.  We mustn’t get discouraged when we are troubled over and over with an old, bad habit of a particular sin.  It takes the one-point concentrated strength of the Holy Spirit working in us.  Let’s thank and praise God for His continual work within us remolding a remaking us into His Image through the power of the blood of Jesus and the persistence of the Holy Spirit.
