Daniel 10:12-14 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come

Some times we wonder why our prayers don’t seem to be answered.  We are impatient people.  We live in a world where we want everything right away.  Quite often when we don’t see our prayers being answered someone will quote the verse about one day being a thousand years and a thousand years being one day to God.  That is true but there is also the events we can’t see in the spiritual world.  The above verses explain this.  This is why it is important for us to keep praying until we receive the answer to our prayers.  Though God doesn’t need us for Him to act, He has chosen to have us unite with Him in the spiritual battles.  As we pray the power of the Holy Spirit within us unites with the angels in heaven.  Satan will pull out all his power to discourage us in our prayers.  He knows how powerful our prayers are.  Let us never given into his discouraging our prayers.  Let us perceiver in joining the angels of heaven and defeat the angels of darkness.  Pray without ceasing
