Different Interpretations

Colossians 1:9 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,  (NIV)

There is an interesting program on YouTube.  They put 2 different preachers on who are speaking on the same passage of scripture.  It is very interesting to here 2 entirely different interpretations.  This is why it is so important for each individual to read, pray and meditate on the scripture for themselves to hear what God wants them to hear for themselves at that point and time of their walk.  It is good to listen to the interpretations of others but we must seek God for ourselves to hear and understand what HE has for us.  This not only apply to spoken messages.  It includes reading things like this devotional.  Just because God gives me an interpretation doesn’t mean that is what you to hear at your point and time in your walk.  That isn’t saying that anybody’s interpretation is incorrect.  The scriptures are the living word of God.  The words don’t change but the depth of meaning is in layers depending on where we are in our walk and our understanding of our Father, God.  These particular devotions are intended to be a jump start for the readers to continue on reading and meditating on the entire passage of the quoted verse or verses and ask the Holy Spirit what they are to understand and apply that very day.  Let us listen and/or read with open minds – open to the understanding give to each individual by the Holy Spirit.
