For God’s Glory

Judges 6:15 15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” (NIV)

Gideon was considered to be an insignificant man.  God found him hiding in an empty well working with the wheat.  Yet, God, through Gideon, defeated an entire army.  David was also considered to be insignificant yet not only did he slay the giant, he became king over a nation.  No one is insignificant in God’s eyes.  Every individual is significant in God’s eyes and each one has a particular and unique ministry.  We must be sure we listen and are open to what God wants to do through us and not compare how He works through us with how He works through others.  Like Gideon and David, we are not the ones doing the work but rather the ones allowing God to do His work through us.  All is for the glory of God and the way God chooses to work through us is recorded in 1 Samuel 17:47 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
