Pre-Conceived Ideas

Matthew 6:10 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (NIV)

We most always have agendas and pre-conceived ideas.  Unfortunately, that carries through on our prayers.  When we pray, we have an agenda, an idea of what answer we expect to have.  We actually want God to agree with our pre-conceived ideas, the decision we have or want to make.  It is hard to nullify our pre-conceived ideas or the decisions we hope to make and listen with an open mind and heart to the Holy Spirit for His direction, His decision, for what pleases Him.  When we pray about a decision, we are hoping for an answer that we have been thinking will work.  Let us learn to trust the Holy Spirit.  Let us really want God’s will in every detail of our life.  Let us learn to put our pre-conceived ideas and decisions to rest and really hear what the Holy Spirit says is best for us and for the Glory of God.
