Know the Father

Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.  (NIV)

We sing, Jesus Loves Me, and it is so right.  We talk of Jesus.  We worship Jesus.  This is as it should be but we must remember the reason Jesus came.  He came to bring us back to the Father.  It is only through Jesus that we can access God the Father but we must ask, do we seek to really know the Father?  Jesus taught us to pray to the Father.  We are to call out to the Father.  We are to listen for the voice of the Father.  To know the Father, after being given access to Him through the Son, Jesus, we must take time.  We can know of the Father through the study and meditation of the written word, the Holy Bible, but that gives us head knowledge.  To really know the Father, we must spend quiet time with Him.  We must be still to know that He is God.  To quiet ourselves for listening we first must come into an attitude of worship by either singing or reading words of worship.  All Jesus said and did was to bring us into an intimate relationship with God the Father.  Let us not disappoint Jesus.  Let us really take the time and effort to have that deep and intimate relationship with God the Father.
