Psalms 37:7 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;  (NIV)

When we pray, most of us just jump in and start talking to God.  When people talk to me, it is necessary for them first to get my attention.  My mind might be in deep thought.  I might be unaware of their effort to talk to me.  When we want to talk to God we must first get His attention.  We begin by addressing Him as Jesus taught us when He said to begin with “Our Father.”  As we wait for Him to respond we praise Him and wait before Him.  When we have stilled our heart and minds and have become totally aware of His presence it is time for a 2-way conversation.  Our time of talking with our Father is not a time to be rushed.  It is a joyful time, an instructional time and the most fulfilling time we can have.  Let us learn to not rush our conversations with our Father, God.  Let us learn to wait on Him, patently and enjoy being totally enveloped in His very real presence.
